History

Srila Gopala Bhatta Goswami, one of the direct disciples of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, received 12 Shaligram Shilas from the Gandaki River in Nepal. Desiring to serve the Lord in a murti form, one Damodar Shila miraculously transformed overnight into the enchanting triad-bent form of Radha Raman on Vaisakha Purnima in 1542 CE.

Architecture

Constructed in traditional Braj temple architecture with polished red sandstone courtyards, decorative arches, and wooden balconies. The sanctum preserves intimate acoustic devotional spaces without electronic amplification.

Best time

October to March. The annual Prakatya Utsav (Vaisakha Purnima in May) features an elaborate Maha-Abhisheka with milk and sacred herbs.
