Ganesh Chaturthi, also celebrated as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav, commemorates the birth of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Celebrated on Shukla Paksha Chaturthi of Bhadrapada month, this vibrant 10-day festival culminates on Anant Chaturdashi. As the patron of intellect, scribe of the Mahabharata, and Vighnaharta (remover of all obstacles), Lord Ganesha is welcomed into homes and public pandals with profound devotion, traditional dhol-tasha beats, and sweet offerings of steamed Modaks.
